GLORY 7 MILAN: Quick Results

Wednesday, Jul 12 2017

Giorgio Petrosyan retained his world number one ranking with another near-perfect performance today, headlining GLORY 7 MILAN in front of a home crowd of Italians.

Armenian by birth, Petrosyan grew up in Italy and has a huge fanbase there. Nearly 10,000 fans packed the Milanifori Arena in Assago, Milan to see him dominate Hafid El Boustati and take his record to 78-1-1.

In the co-main event, Robin  van Roosmalen was unlucky not to stop Murthel Groenhart late in the first round of what had, via comments made in pre-fight interviews, turned into something of a grudge match.

Groenhart tried to blow Van Roosmalen away and landed his famous knee to the head more than once, but Van Roosmalen weathered the storm, knocked him down near the end of round one then took control in rounds two and three.

Other standout performances on the card included Artem Levin and Rico Verhoeven, both of whom made the rest of their weight classes sit up and take notice with dominating displays over top opposition.
