“Explosive” is one of the words most often used to describe stocky Dutch lightweight Robin van Roosmalen. He is one of the shorter fighters in the weight class but he more than makes up for it in power.
Van Roosmalen throws bombs and has KO power in each hand. He also has excellent conditioning and likes to fight at a high pace. Often he will force opponents to tire by making them match this pace, then take advantage of openings in their defense as fatigue sets in.
Among his trainers is his father, who in his own kickboxing days became the only fighter to ever knock Vitali Klitschko out. The Ukrainian went on to become a world heavyweight boxing champion while Van Roosmalen is continuing his own family tradition of leaving opponents face down on the canvas.
